Here are moments in the year when time softens—when the usual forward motion pauses just long enough for us to feel what has been quietly rearranging itself beneath the surface. Eclipse season is one of those moments. It doesn’t arrive loudly. It arrives like a breath held, a subtle dimming of the light, an invitation to listen more closely.

From February 17 to March 3, 2026, we enter a powerful eclipse corridor: a liminal space between what has been and what is becoming. This season opens with a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius and closes with a Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo, weaving together themes of collective vision and embodied devotion to daily life.

Eclipse seasons are not meant to be rushed or mastered. They are thresholds—places where clarity unfolds slowly, where the body often understands before the mind does. Through yoga, reflection, seasonal awareness, supportive herbs, and gentle tools, we can learn to move with this energy rather than resist it.

Understanding Eclipse Season as a Sacred Pause

Astrologically, eclipse season occurs when the Sun and Moon align close to the lunar nodes—points associated with fate, evolution, and long-term growth. These periods tend to accelerate change, not always in obvious ways, but often through quiet inner shifts that reshape our direction over time.

Solar eclipses act like amplified new moons. They plant seeds that may take months to fully reveal themselves. Lunar eclipses, on the other hand, illuminate what has reached completion—asking us to release, integrate, or soften our grip.

The 2026 eclipse season offers a complete arc: a beginning infused with future-oriented vision, followed by a grounded moment of discernment and release.

Solar Eclipse in Aquarius — February 17, 2026

The season begins with an annular solar eclipse in Aquarius, a sign deeply connected to innovation, authenticity, community, and the courage to imagine life beyond familiar structures.

Aquarius energy is expansive and future-minded, yet it can also feel destabilizing. This eclipse may stir questions around belonging, contribution, and freedom—especially where you have outgrown old identities or roles. Rather than demanding immediate answers, this moment asks for openness. What wants to be re-envisioned? Where are you being invited to trust a new way forward, even if the path is not yet clear?

This is not a time for rigid planning. It is a time for listening—especially to the quieter impulses that point toward your most authentic expression.

Yoga Practice for the Aquarius Solar Eclipse

This short practice is designed to cultivate grounded openness, helping you stay present as new possibilities emerge. Each posture is selected to support the nervous system, expand the chest, and create stability amid the expansive Aquarius energy.

Goddess Pose (Utkata Konasana) Step your feet wide, turning your toes slightly outward. Bend your knees, stacking them over your ankles, and lower your hips toward the earth. Bring your arms into a cactus shape or rest your hands at your heart. Root down through your feet while lifting through the crown of your head. Stay for 5–8 slow breaths. Supportive because it grounds the lower body while opening the heart, creating strength and receptivity to new ideas and intentions.Use a natural yoga mat for extra grounding and connection to the earth.

Eagle Pose (Garudasana) From standing, bend your knees slightly and cross one thigh over the other, wrapping the foot if accessible. Cross the opposite arm underneath, bringing palms or backs of hands together. Draw the elbows slightly away from the face and soften the shoulders. Hold for 5–7 breaths, then switch sides. Supportive because it cultivates focus and balance, helping the mind settle amid the expansive and sometimes unsettling eclipse energy.

Supported Crow Pose or Malasana (Yogic Squat) If arm balances feel supportive, explore Crow Pose with a block under the forehead. Otherwise, come into Malasana with heels supported. Allow the spine to round slightly, gaze soft. Stay for 5 deep breaths. Supportive because it encourages trust, experimentation, and presence in the body—helping you embody courage to step into new beginnings.Optional: support your sitting bones with a buckwheat bolster for Malasana pose.

Herbs for Support: calming tea such as lemon balm can help soothe the nervous system.

Journal Prompts:

  • Where am I being invited to show up differently in my community, my work, or my personal life?

  • What new possibility feels ready to be planted, even if I can’t see the full path yet?

Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo — March 3, 2026

The eclipse season culminates with a total lunar eclipse in Virgo, shifting our attention from the collective back into the intimate terrain of daily life. Virgo energy is quiet, discerning, and deeply attuned to the small choices that shape our well-being.

This eclipse may illuminate habits, routines, or inner narratives that no longer support you. It invites release not through force, but through care—asking what can be simplified, refined, or gently laid down. Emotional clarity may arrive through the body first, as fatigue, tenderness, or a longing for more spacious rhythms.

Allow whatever surfaces to be met with patience. Lunar eclipses are less about fixing and more about witnessing what is ready to change.

Yoga Practice for the Virgo Lunar Eclipse

This practice emphasizes nervous-system regulation, grounding, and integration. Each posture is chosen to calm, release, and support reflection.

Supported Child’s Pose (Balasana) Kneel on the mat and bring a bolster or folded blankets under the torso. Allow the forehead to rest, arms relaxed. Let the breath move naturally through the back body. Remain for 8–12 slow breaths. Supportive because it encourages surrender, integration, and deep listening, inviting the body to absorb the lunar energies.

Seated Forward Fold (Paschimottanasana) Sit with legs extended, placing a bolster or pillow over the thighs. Fold forward gently, keeping the spine long and the neck relaxed. Rest hands wherever they land. Stay for 6–10 breaths. Supportive because it fosters introspection, calming the mind while allowing emotional release to flow through the body.

Legs Up the Wall (Viparita Karani) Lie on your back with legs resting vertically against a wall or supported on a chair. Place one hand on the heart, one on the belly. Remain here for 2–5 minutes. Supportive because it soothes the nervous system, encourages venous return, and aids in integrating the emotional and physical insights of the eclipse.

Herbs for Support: grounding tea such as nettle  help integrate emotional release.

Journal Prompts:

  • What patterns or habits am I ready to release in order to feel more supported and nourished in daily life?

  • What simple practices can I bring into my daily rhythm to honor this lunar eclipse energy?

Moving Through Eclipse Season with Care

Eclipse season is not the moment for decisive action or sweeping conclusions. Instead, it asks for spaciousness. Rest more than usual. Journal without seeking immediate clarity. Let insights arrive in their own time.

Returning to seasonal rhythms, gentle rituals, herbal support, and embodied practices can offer stability as the larger currents shift. You may also feel drawn to revisit reflections from New Moon in Libra — Rituals and Reflections for Harmony, or other plant allies and home practices that support emotional balance.

A Closing Reflection

Eclipse seasons remind us that transformation is rarely linear. Often, it begins as a subtle internal re-orientation—a quiet knowing that something has shifted, even if we can’t yet name it.

As you move through this threshold, allow yourself to remain curious rather than certain. What is unfolding does not require force. It requires presence.

Trust that what is meant to take shape will do so, in its own time, guided by rhythms older and wiser than the mind alone. **The wisdom shared here is meant to guide and inspire your journey with herbs and seasonal living.
